District of Somerset West and Taunton Parish of Wellington Temporary Closure of Ardwyn

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Ardwyn - for it's entire length, a total distance of 96 metres. This Order will enable Avonline to carry out trenching and laying of infrastructure on behalf of Gigaclear. The Order becomes effective on 3 March 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 7th March 2022 and last until 11th March 2022 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 5 days. There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements. a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
