THE proposed north-east Bridgwater development is indeed exciting news for Bridgwater.
The precise details are not yet known, but what about the possibility of a new railway station to serve the area?
The development adjoins the main Bristol to Exeter railway line, and a new station would give access to both the north and south, also serving as a convenient railhead for those people living in Puriton, Pawlett, Woolavington etc.
Much potential road congestion would be saved.
As many readers will know, there used to be a station at Dunball until the mid-1960s.
