A MERCURY reader from Pawlett has provided us with a fascinating look into Bridgwater's illustrious past for this week's Those Were the Days feature.
Tony Etheridge, of Quantock Rise, has sent in a snap taken by him in 1957 of pupils and teachers from Westonzoyland Secondary Modern School.
The photo was taken just after the group had arrived at Nunks Hostel in Bigbury-on-Sea, South Devon, after spending several days hiking over Dartmoor.
The trip had been organised by the school during the holidays and Nunk, the owner of the hostel, is pictured in the centre wearing a cap.
