THIS week's Mercury Memories provides readers with a fascinating snapshot of past Carnivals.
Brought in to us by Mercury reader Bill Biffin, this picture shows the Quantock Preserving Company Carnival Club taking part in its first and only Carnival in 1934.
The young club's theme for the year was Sweethearts from Holland and the members are all dressed in traditional Dutch attire, including iconic clogs.
Interestingly, the Quantock Preserving Company is now known as the Gerber Juice Company, which sponsored this year's event.
Were you a member of the short-lived Quantock Preserving Company Carnival Club? Do you recognise anyone in the picture? Do you have any interesting photos of Bridgwater's history? The Mercury would like to hear from you.Send your memories to Mercury Memories, Royal Clarence House, York Buildings, High Street, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AT.
