JAMES was born at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and has lived in Bridgwater all his life. He attended St Mary's Primary School before going to Haygrove School. He then studied as an apprentice carpenter at Bridgwater College and now works for one of the top ten house builders as a senior manager.
He joined Wills Carnival Club 14 years ago and has held the position of vice captain and club captain since 2000. He is married to Lynette, who shares the same enthusiasm for the club and she holds the position of club secretary.
His sister and brother-in-laws Theresa and Gareth Healy are vice presidents of the club and he has made good friends through the club and enjoys socialising with them all.
His other interests are supporting Arsenal Football Club and watching Formula One.
What is the best and worst thing about the place you live in?
The best thing about Bridgwater is Carnival and the amount of talent we have in the town which can been seen throughout the year from the Pantomime Society, ACTS, Operatic Society and front of curtain acts.
The worst thing about Bridgwater is traffic around the town centre and the facilities for young people.
What is the best and worst thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is seeing a development completed to a high standard.
The worst thing about my job is being out in all weathers.
What was your ambition as a child?
I always wanted to work in the building trade and I also wanted to be rich and famous.
What has been your greatest achievement?
Being part of a fantastic team that helped Wills CC win the County Cup.
What characteristic do you dislike in others and yourself?
In myself, sometimes I cannot make up my mind, but in others I do not like people who are selfish and only think of themselves.
What is your biggest fear?
Not having my health.
Where and when were you happiest?
I am quite a happy person but I am at my happiest when I am either with friends or family.
What three items would you take to a desert island?
MP3 Player, Barrel of Thatchers Cold, Swiss Army Knife Who are your dream dinner party guests?
