The Hamp Junior School samba band has provided some Latin flavour to the streets of Bridgwater this afternoon
THE Carnival atmosphere is in full swing as Bridgwater has enjoyed a fabulous array of entertainment throughout the town centre as the big night approaches this evening.
The Quay West FM road show stand has been keeping everyone dancing by providing music and entertainment with broadcaster Dave Englefield taking the responsibility as compere.
The Mercury’s Simon Manley competed against Quay West’s Paul Green in the annual donut eating competition, which, despite Simon’s valiant efforts, was won for a second year running by the Paul.
Kick-starting the carnival atmosphere was the ACTS group, which performed variety of classic pop songs and the Hamp Junior School samba band brought Latin flair to the streets of Bridgwater with their thumping performance along the High Street.
With the Carnival procession just hours away, thousands of people are eagerly anticipating the amazing spectacle and the entertainment provided throughout the day has more than whetted the appetite of the entire community.
