FORMER Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson is set to be looking for a new job with news that he is set to leave the Ashton Gate hot seat at Bristol City later today.
The BBC reported last night that Robins’ chairman Stephen Lansdown is to tell the City players at 9.30am this morning to tell them the news that Johnson has left the club by mutual consent.
Johnson led Yeovil to FA Trophy, Nationwide Conference and Coca-Cola League Two glory before joining City in 2005 and guiding them to Coca-Cola League One promotion and a place back in the Championship.
He came within 90 minutes of taking City into the Premier League, but they lost in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium to Hull City in 2008.
City have struggled with consistency this term and have won just two games in their last 12 outings and have gone from potential play-off contenders to a team just seven points above the relegation places.
The BBC has reported that assistant manager Keith Millen is expected to take over team affairs for Saturday’s match when Championship leaders Newcastle United are the visitors to Ashton Gate.
