SOMERSET Rebels star Sam Masters achieved his second top-four finish from two outings when he reached the 'A' Final of the 2012 Australian Championship second-round in New South Wales' Kurri Kurri.
This sees Masters move up into joint-third position in the overall Championship standings on 32 points with the leader, Chris Holder, topping the list with 40 points.
In stark contrast to last Saturday's meeting at North Brisbane, which saw Masters scrape into the 'B' Final as the final qualifier before battling his way through to the 'A' Final, this week's meeting saw him drop just two points from his five qualifying rides.
Despite lining up as the second best qualifier, Masters had to settle for yet another fourth place and a further 16 Championship points as the three-meeting series heads to its conclusion at Gillman, South Australia, on Saturday.
