SOMERSET Rebels tamed the Glasgow Tigers as they claimed a 51-42 win at the Oaktree Arena on Friday.
The opening eight heats of the match saw the two sides evenly matched as the scoring ebbed and flowed, the pattern being set as the Tigers opened up with a 4-2 heat advantage in heat one, courtesy of Screen and Pjper, only for the Rebels to hit back with a 4-2 race win of their own in heat one with Somerset's Alex Davies taking the race win.
A maximum race win in heat five saw the Tigers move into a four point lead, but as it transpired, that was going to be as good as it got for the visitors, as the Rebels immediately hit back with Nieminen and Davies combining for a 5-1 heat win of their own.
The second half of the match, however, was to be virtually all Somerset as consecutive maximum race wins in heats 10, 11 and 13 extended the Rebels' lead to 44-37.
The Rebels' made no mistake of holding onto that seven-point lead as they finished heat 15 with a 51-42 win.
