THE Somerset Dickies Rebels claimed a more than creditable third-place finish in Sunday's Premier League Fours Championship at Peterborough's Alwalton Stadium.
The Rebels won their qualifying group ahead of Edinburgh and joined Birmingham and Sheffield in the 12 heat final.
They suffered a blow when Cory Gathercole was forced to withdraw from the meeting as a precautionary measure following his fall in the first ride.
Birmingham ran out winners by six points but Somerset recovered from a slow start to finish on 15 points and maintained the club's record of never finishing off the podium since they first qualified for the competition's final stages in 2005.
