SOMERSET head coach Andy Hurry believes his team will be looking to win the CB40 to make up for the heartbreak of missing out in the final of the T20 last month.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s CB40 semi-final against Essex at Taunton Hurry said: “I think that every team is capable of going on to win the trophy so there will be two hard fought games between four competitive sides and we have to make sure that we’re on the top of our game on Saturday.”
“We’re confident after the way we beat Glamorgan last weekend and need to keep that going.
“In this competition we’ve played some very good cricket, although we have had a couple of hiccups along the way. In a competition involving 12 matches that’s almost to be expected, but that is behind us now.
“We go into the game against Essex in almost the same position as we were in the T20 so the boys are all pumped up for it and looking forward to the challenge.
“There is no doubt that the CB40 is a competition that Somerset can win. We have been playing some very good cricket and we are an exciting team to watch.
“We love playing in front of big crowds so we’ll do our utmost to make sure we book a place in the final at Lords.”
