Somerset V Kent - Close of play Day 2

10:38pm Wednesday 21st July 2010

Somerset are 128-2 having bowled Kent out for 172 on day two of their LV County Championship Division 1 match.

Somerset resumed on 122-7 and managed to reach 205 all out thanks to Zander de Bruyn's knock of 44.

Murali Kartik then claimed 5-50 as Somerset skittled Kent after a good start. Kent had reached 76-1 and looked comfortable but Kartik then claimed the wicket of former England wicket-keeper Geraint Jones and sparked the collapse that ended with Kent all out for 172.

Somerset's openers then took to the middle with a 33 run lead and are currently making good that lead.

Marcus Trescothick is unbeaten overnight on 59 and Jos Buttler contributed 42 before getting out to Malinga Bandara.

Somerset have eight wickets in hand in their second innings and a lead of 161.
