SOMERSET County Cricket Club bowlers Jack Leach and Craig Overton have both been named in England's 12-man squad ahead of their second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch.

Leach has come into the side alongside James Vince and Mark Wood, with Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes being dropped from the side which lost the first Test by an innings and 49 runs.

Overton retains his place, having saved England from recording their lowest ever Test score, with 33 not out in their first innings of 58.

With fellow spinner Ali out of the picture, Leach is in line to make his full England debut, but captain Joe Root will only confirm the 11 to play the match before the toss.

Play is due to get underway at 11pm tonight, UK time.

Full England squad for second Test: Joe Root, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, Craig Overton, Ben Stokes, Mark Stoneman, James Vince, Mark Wood

Leach's Somerset 'spin twin' Dom Bess, meanwhile, scored his maiden First-Class century overnight, batting at nine for the MCC against Essex in Barbados.

Bess came to the crease with the MCC on 236-7, and promptly hit 107 off 106 balls (with 18 fours) before being bowled by Dan Lawrence.

That took the MCC onto 408-8, at which point they declared.

At the end of day two, with Essex on 26-1 in their second innings, the MCC lead by 195 runs.

Earlier, Bess had taken 2-57 off 15 overs in Essex's first innings.
