SOMERSET secured their second LV= County Championship game in a week when they beat Hampshire by nine wickets at the Ageas Bowl yesterday.
Resuming on 41-2, Hampshire slipped to 69-5 with Peter Trego (3-49) dismissing Michael Carberry (28) and Liam Dawson.
Will Smith (37), Adam Wheater (49) and Gareth Berg (86) checked the away side's progress, but Craig Overton (4-57) returned to end the innings on 262.
Somerset were left needing 64 to win and Marcus Trescothick (35) and Tom Abell (21 not out) saw them home.
In their previous match against Nottinhgamshire the Cidermen recorded the second-highest run chase in their history. Somerset now lie fifth in Division One with three wins from eight matches.
