SOMERSET Seconds had to settle for a draw from their three day Championship match against Hampshire which ended on Wednesday.
Invited to bat first, Somerset lost Tom Abell and Chris Jones by the time the score had reached 34.
James Burke (28) and Josh Davey then added 52 to take Somerset on to 86.
James Regan was out for 25 but Davey remained at the crease until he was out for 97 with the score on 220.
Somerset were eventually all out for 244 in 73.3 overs.
Adam Dibble claimed early wickets as Hampshire slipped to 51-4 but the visitors recovered to 218 all out. Dibble finished with the impressive figures of 6-57.
Somerset's second innings saw Abell (36) and Jones (39) put on 71 for the first wicket.
Other contributions came from Burke (61), Tim Rouse (50) and Regan (33) as the hosts were all out for 261.
By the end of the game Hampshire had reached 174-6 in their second innings, Dibble taking 3-34.
The Second XI Trophy game between the two sides on Thursday was abandoned with Hampshire on 32-2.
