AN accomplished performance against a team lying second from the bottom put Petherton back on the winning trail after last week's narrow loss, writes Simon Freeman.
Petherton took the lead as early as the third minute from a lineout and a controlled drive which shunted Simon Ranson over.
Debutant Carl Brown dotted the ball down under the posts soon after, with Harry Roberst adding the extras to take a 12-0 lead.
Bude attacked but Sam Williams responded for Petherton with their third try, and further tries from Kyle Prescott's 25-metre run and a bulldozing effort from Aaron Gibbs gave Petherton a 41-0 lead at half-time.
The second half began with a Lloyd Williams sniping run from his own half and after a couple of phases Brown scored, he scored his second under the posts.
Gibbs scored his second try in the 57th minute before Bude finally notched up some points on the scoreboard.
Petherton continued to pound the Bude defence and a charged down kick by Damian Griffin, a friendly bounce of the ball and he was under the posts before there was another seven points for Brown who dived over the complete the win.
Man of the match: Kyle Prescott.
