NORTH Petherton CC were unlucky to lose out to Chard CC in the final of the Terry Mockridge Memorial Shield (Baker Cup), played at the neutral ground of Staplegrove on Tuesday evening.
Ask to bowl first Petherton restricted the West of England Bristol and Somerset premier side to 136 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply Petherton always looked the likely winners but came unstuck very late on with the light fading fast to fall just 20 runs short.
The game was played very competitively but in excellent spirit and the young Petherton side will benefit from pushing a premier side so closely.
