North Petherton Colts 48, Minehead 5

MINEHEAD turned up with depleted numbers but never gave less than 100%.

Their tackling throughout was determined and showed plenty of character.

Minehead had to borrow a few of the Petherton squad to level the sides.

Pethy made an impressive start with some strong breaks from the forwards who regularly supplied quick ball.

The home team came under the cosh for a ten minute spell in the first half but they managed to keep out the determined visitors.

Pethy found their feet and began to play as a unit and in a short space of time regular tries from Billy Teather, James Chin, Ben Freeman, Harry Gutheridge (3) and Jack Coles secured the points - Freeman converted five and dropped a goal.

The final game of the season saw some end to end action with both teams looking to move the ball around.

The defences were organised and show promise for next year’s second year colts.
