Windsor Ladies 17 North Petherton Ladies 25
AN excellent game played by both teams saw the ball being moved freely around the field, writes Simon Freeman.
The early play involved some lively play and some strong defence.
Petherton used their forwards well and their nerves were settled by number 8 Lorna Roberton, who picked up from the base and bounced off a couple of tacklers to score (5-0).
Windsor came back strongly and were rewarded for their hard work with a try (5-5).
This unsettled the ladies and the game became a bit loose, but showing plenty of determination Pethy came through it by retaking the lead with a Meg Palfrey try.
The second half witnessed some superb handling from both sides and with Pethy determined to increase their lead.
Tash Date scored early, but just as before Windsor responded in superb style and narrowed the gap with a converted try.
Petherton then produced their most fluid rugby as the game reached the final quarter and two more tries from Tash Date secured the victory.
