Tribute Somerset 1

Bridgwater & Albion 2nds 12, North Petherton 2nds 23

THIS derby match is always a keenly-fought affair against North Petherton but it was the visitors who came away with the early bragging rights, writes Simon Gingell. Petherton raced into an early 10-0 lead through a Steven Potter try and Dan Pearce penalty.

Albion fought back to earn themselves a try but Pethy had the final say in the first half with another penalty.

Five minutes into the second half, Pethy scored a try out wide through makeshift centre Mike Taylor.

The home side came back again, though, as their replacement centre ran rings around the Pethy defence to score.

But not to be outdone, Taylor produced a blistering run to outstrip the Albion defence and score to wrap up the win.

Next week, North Petherton are at home to Castle Cary and Bridgwater and Albion travel to Yatton.
