Bridgwater and Albion coach hopes to pull of some shock results

Bridgwater and Albion head coach Kevin Innalls refused to let the cold snap dampen his or the team’s morale as their match with Exmouth fell foul to the weather.

Albion will take on Amersham and Chiltern on Saturday in pursuit of their second win of the campaign and Innalls said the team are capable of pulling off a couple of shocks before the end of the season.

He said: “The message to the lads is to relax and enjoy themselves and see if we can upset the odds and cause of few surprises.

“We have been looking at some of the videos from our matches and how to improve because we play some great stuff but then make sloppy errors.

“At the moment we are in a routine of losing and it’s hard to get out of.

“But we can turn things around and turn over a few teams if we get our decision making right.”

Innalls was hopeful that Marshall Cormack will feature in this weekend’s clash but the team will be without Ali Blundell and Nick Francis.

Gary Allen, Director of Rugby, said spectators will be in for a good game of rugby whatever the result.

He added: “Win, lose or draw it will be a good game to watch and we are trying to encourage as many people as possible to come down but we understand people have personal commitments.” Kick-off is 3pm.

Bridwater’s last match was a 36-22 home defeat by Oxford Harlequins in the National League Division 3 SW.

The visitors had the game won in the first 15 minutes as they raced into a 21-0 lead with the help of three tries.

But Bridgwater stuck to their guns and produced a candidate for try of the season when prop Joe Bussell fought his way over from 40 metres for a superb individual effort.

Other Albion tries came from Kyle Giblett and Roger Drabble with a fine individual try from near the half-way line.

Bridgwater are one from bottom in the table with just one victory from 18 matches.
