THE visit to Clevedon proved a difficult one as Bridgwater's depleted side capitulated tamely against opponents who had also defeated them in the home tie earlier in the season.
Bridgwater opened brightly enough and just about shaded the early encounters but they were blown away halfway through the first half with a scoring burst from the home side which yielded 19 points.
The second half went much the same way of the first and it was 20 minutes before Clevedon bothered the scoreboard again even though Bridgwater had to defend manfully through most of that time.
Albion continued to press for a score of their own and with the lineout working well and some phases being strung together, but they were unable to register any points on the scoresheet.
Next week's home tie is against struggling Yatton.
Bridgwater: J Coates, D Lang, M Cox, J Sturdy, J Kerry, N Bradley D Steward; J Moulding D Norman, D Marsh, M Northey, B Harvey, A Trunks J Stradling O Steward. Reps D Page, D Richards *BRIDGWATER 3rd XV had to concede their match against Cheddar Valley.
