BRIDGWATER & Albion’s scheduled South West 1 West match at home to Launceston was unsurprisingly called off last weekend due to the snow which hit the region late last week, writes Richard Walsh.

Albion head coach Simon Morrell is hoping to end the season with a flourish, and ahead of the last two months of the season he said: "There is still a lot of the season left to play.

"While other teams around us might be happy to be where they are in the table, we still feel that we have got some unfinished business and are looking to improve upon our seventh place in the table.

"We have got our own agenda, we are keen to have a really strong finish to our fixtures and take some momentum into pre-season.

"A number of things have started to come together.

"Availability looks good for the coming weeks and we are chomping at the bit.

"We are better than the position we are in, and we are keen to show our worth and get some wins under our belts in the last six games."

Tomorrow sees Albion travel up the M5 to take on Matson, who are based in Gloucester and who ran out the 23-19 winners when the two sides met at College Way back in November.

Looking towards the game the head coach said: "Matson are a tough side but we owe them one after they beat us earlier in the season.

"We feel that if we get our preparation right and put our best team on the bus there are no excuses if we don’t get a victory."

Albion’s postponed home game against Launceston will now be played at College Way on Saturday, March 17.

Also on tomorrow, Bridgwater & Albion 2nds host St Bernadettes Old Boys in Somerset Premier, while the 3rd XV travel to Winscombe 2nds in Somerset 2 South.

NORTH Petherton are hoping to play for the first time since February 17 as they play host to South West 1 West strugglers Teignmouth tomorrow.

Pethy have won three of their last four matches and were hoping to take on Okehampton on Saturday, only for Storm Emma to intervene.

That match has now been re-scheduled for March 31, while Pethy’s focus this weekend is on completing a double over Teignmouth, having beaten them 21-20 in November.

Pethy's 2nd XV and Morganians are both without a game in Somerset 1.
