THERE is a reduced rugby programme this weekend, but tomorrow sees Bridgwater & Albion and North Petherton both take to the road for tough away games.

Albion put in an impressive performance against South West 1 West leaders Exeter University last time out, only losing 12-7 at College Way.

Head coach Simon Morrell reflected: "We are really pleased with our squad and we are starting to see the benefit of the development model that we have got in place.

"There were some exceptional performances from some of the younger players who have developed their games through being involved with the squad from the start of the season, so now we are starting to get a payback."

Tomorrow, Albion travel up the M5 to play a re-arranged fixture against Thornbury, who are fifth in the table, three places above their opposition.

Looking forward to what is likely to be another tough game, Morrell said: "We will be going up to Thornbury with as strong a team as possible, feeling confident.

"We will be looking for some points, and then we want to put in some special performances in our last four home games."

As for North Petherton, they eked out a 15-14 win at home to fourth-placed Newent last Saturday, and tomorrow the side in 10th go to Drybrook, who are currently second.

Undoubtedly it will be a difficult task, but Pethy will be looking for points to take them yet further away from the South West 1 West dropzone.

Finally, Bridgwater & Albion's 3rd XV are at home to Wells 2nds in Somerset 2 South tomorrow.
