BRIDGWATER & Albion are preparing for a tough trip to Forest of Dean side Newent, who have a famous sloping pitch and sit fifth in the table, writes Richard Walsh.

Albion are ninth going into the enocounter, but team manager Geoff Sluman is hoping to build on last weekend's emphatic Somerset Cup victory over Midsomer Norton.

“We hope to carry on a lot of the momentum that we have built this week into our next game, which is against another tough Gloucestershire side who are above us in the table," he said.

“Newent is always a difficult place to go and they know how to make the most of their sloping pitch.

“We have got four players coming back and more people playing well, which is going to make selection really difficult – but that’s a nice problem to face.”

Elsewhere in the division, North Petherton have a crunch clash at home to Bideford, who sit one place and three points above Pethy going into the weekend.

The hosts have won their last two matches, so are looking to continue their recent upward momentum.

In Somerset Premier, Bridgwater & Albion 2nds, who have had a tough time of late, host Hornets.

Morganians travel to Chew Valley 2nds in Somerset One, with North Petherton 2nds also on the road as they head to Old Bristolians.

In Somerset Two South, Bridgwater & Albion 3rds make the trip to Somerton.
