Bridgwater & Albion 31, Keynsham 14

BRIDGWATER & Albion produced an impressive performance to get back to winning ways with a five-try victory against a good Keynsham side.

In front of their biggest home crowd of the season, boosted by 230 who attended a Friends of Bridgwater & Albion RFC lunch, the home side opened the scoring on 24 minutes, when Arron Kelly went over for a try that skipper Stuart Heal converted.

The hosts kept up the pressure and five minutes later extended their lead, as winger Will Monro broke through, side-stepped a couple of tackles, and went over for an unconverted try.

Albion then went further ahead on 38 minutes, when centre Ryan Barnett scored a try that was converted by Heal to make it 19-0.

During the additional time that was played in the first half, Keynsham opened their account when Bradley Newton scored a try that Stevenson converted to make it 19-7 at the interval.

The hosts started the second half strongly, and following a slick move involving the three quarters Kyan Devitt scored a try, once again converted by Heal.

Keynsham responded five minutes later with a try from George, with Stevenson adding the extras.

But Albion held firm, and in the last five minutes Luke Plummer ran through to score under the posts to make the final score 31-14.
