BRIDGWATER & Albion head coach Simon Morrell is backing his side to put on a show during Saturday's home clash with Keynsham in South West One West.

The Friends of Bridgwater & Albion will be hosting a lunch for almost 200 guests before the game, and the Albion boss is hoping to reward their support.

Morrell said: “We have waited patiently to be at home with a decent experienced side out, so we will be looking to put on a bit of a performance from the Friends, who give great support to the club.

“I would be amazed if the boys don’t come out firing next week and put on a strong performance.”

Reflecting on Saturday’s 45-5 loss at Exeter University, Albion head coach Simon Morrell said: “All things considered we were pleased to come away from Topsham Road with our squad largely intact.

“Exeter University are a bit of an anomaly and certainly won’t be hanging around level six for long.

“They had some impressive athletes and it was a brilliant learning curve for us to be exposed to that intensity.

“The way we handled the conditions in our own half was really encouraging and the way we found our way to get a field position to clear our touchline went exceptionally well.

“We still have availability issues through injury, but the guys we have signed this year are more than capable of playing in the league above.”

Elsewhere in South West One (W), North Petherton - who have won just once in the league so far this season - travel to mid-table Thornbury.

Bridgwater & Albion 2nds head to Wiveliscombe in Somerset Premier, while the 3rds face a local derby at home to Burnham in Somerset Two South.

In Somerset One, Morganians welcome Old Bristolians and North Petherton 2nds host Wellington 2nds.
