BRIDGWATER & Albion are set to include their impressive new additions for this weekend’s clash at home to third-placed Thornbury (ko 2.15pm).

Both Harry Collins and Paul Ash-Smith have been added to the squad in recent weeks, with Nick Spellissy also back in contention after travelling to India to watch England play cricket before Christmas.

The two new boys appeared for the Albion in their impressive 40-22 victory at Teignmouth a fortnight ago, and head coach Simon Morrell has given supporters the lowdown on the recent arrivals.

“Paul Ash-Smith has been around locally for a little while and has played for both Wellington and Taunton,” he said.

“His availability will be a little bit mixed because of his work, but to be able to bring in a prop forward with his kind of experience is great because it provides the opportunity to rest people.

"Paul will do a really good job for us when he is available to play.

“Harry Collins is an exceptional player and will do a really good job for us in helping to develop Shaun Mahoney.

"He has previously played for Hartpury College and England Students and is currently in the Royal Marines locally so will play when he can - getting him here is a big result for us.”

Albion will have to do without Taylor Buller, who impressed at Teignmouth, because he is away skiing.

This weekend’s opponents Thornbury won the reverse fixture 32-19 back in October, so Bridgwater will be looking for a change in fortunes as they seek to make the most of home advantage on Saturday.

Albion also invite all former players to come and cheer the boys on (free passes for them on the gate) and stay to watch England play Wales in the Six Nations on the big screen afterwards.
