Somerset Division
Chard II 24, Bridgwater II 18
BRIDGWATER II slipped to a narrow defeat at the hands of Chard II on Saturday.
Glenn Harding scored the opening try for Chard and good line-out work from Nick Mouland, David Biss drove over for try number two.
Chard were now well on top and Jack Elliot got the third try.
Bridgwater did get right back in to the game when in first half injury time they crossed for an unconverted try.
Chard back row forward Gab Riley burst through under the posts for the fourth and bonus point try.
Poor tackling allowed Bridgy to get their second try and a successfully converted penalty after a Chard player was binned.
A third unconverted try brought Bridgy within striking distance, but they weren’t able to find a winning score.
