BARFC 2nd XV 8, North Petherton 2nd XV 9

NORTH Petherton took the bragging rights in the second derby of the season as the triumphed 9-8 at College Way.

Three penalties did the damage for Pethy, who were outscored by one try to nil by the hosts.

John Hill scored all of Bridgwater's points, but it wasn't enough to prevent Pethy taking the spoils.

After a point-less first period, John Hill gave Bridgwater the lead just after half-time with a penalty.

But the lead did not last long as Petherton played the conditions well, with good kicking pinning Bridgwater in their own 22.

Pethy levelled the scores with a penalty of their own before two further penalties gave them a 9-3 lead.

Bridgwater finished the game the stronger of the two sides and registered the first try of the afternoon when John Hill touched down out wide.

The conversion was missed and with North Petherton held on to take the win.

Bridgwater are away to Castle Cary next weekend.
