PROFESSIONAL boxer Dean Mills, the “Pride of Bridgwater”, has been nominated for the Contest of the Year award in the sports own version of the Oscars.
Mills was nominated for his title fight against Mark McCullough at the Riviera Centre in Torquay in June where he missed out by just one point.
The British Boxing Board of Control will hold its own version of the Oscars in which the most outstanding boxers from all over Britain are honoured during an award presentation ceremony.
Mills and his trainer Glyn Mitchell say they are both very proud to attend the ceremony in London’s Covent Gardens in November.
Everyone at Cosmo gym, where Mills trains, are also extremely proud to have such talent in their ranks.
Mills is sponsored by Les Reed tattooist in Bridgwater.
