Bridgwater 5ths 1, ISCA 10

8:00am Wednesday 24th February 2010

Bridgwater Hockey Club Mens 5ths THE 5th XI played host to ISCA, who came with a young, but talented side.

ISCA opened the scoring after ten minutes and quickly added a second. Bridgwater tried to feed Duncan Whitehead and Mike Davidge but had difficulty getting the ball through to them.

Dan Pigden, Harry Stephenson and Brandon Durkin battled hard in midfield for Bridgwater, but ISCA recorded two further goals before half time.

Bridgwater looked more secure for the first period of the second half, but speedy interpassing between ISCA’s skilful youngsters proved too much for Bridgwater and ISCA continued to chalk up the goals.

Whitehead did score a trademark goal when he ran on to a long ball, rounded a defender and slammed his shot past the keeper.

Although the final score was a disappointing 10-1 victory for ISCA, Bridgwater can take heart from some of the performances. Bridgwater's man of the match was shared between Duncan Whitehead and Pete Cammish.
