Bridgwater Jupiter 38, Trident 65

JUPITER went out fighting with centre court duo Julie McClean (C) and Ellie Schofield (WD) working hard.

However, Trident came out stronger, ending the quarter 9-19.

Cerys Ethridge (WA) and player of the match Kia Jenner (GA) kept battling away and Sally Haysham (GK) and Emily Bridges (GD) faced up the Trident attack but Jupiter went into the final quarter 46-28.

Maddie Kennard (GS) worked the ball into the circle leading to another point.

Saturn 15, Hovelands 76

SATURN went out to face top of the league Hovelands with a new line-up.

Ellie Schofield (WA) and Hannah Sayer (C) worked hard to bring the ball down the court but the defence from Hovelands proved too strong for Saturn.

Georgina Goodwin (GS) and Cerys Ethridge (GA) combined well in the search for goals and Aiste Mockeluninate (GD) and Eve Jenner (GK) worked tirelessly In the fourth quarter, Saturn refused to give up.

Despite the whole team effort against an extremely strong side, Saturn left with a disappointing result.

Neptune 29, Parkfield 52

NEPTUNE took a while to get into the game and ended the first quarter 18-7 down.

They battled to gain control, with Emily Harwood, Abbie Alderwick and Chris Durant (C ) moving the ball forward consistently with assistance from Beth Hayes and Katie Anthony.

They went into the second half 31-15 down but shooters Katie Harris and Kayleigh Martin-Haste did well to earn Neptune a well-deserved point.

Venus 27, Queensway 49

VENUS’ slow start saw the hosts storm into an 18-3 lead.

Chris Shaw moved to centre at the start of the second quarter and Beth Hayes (WA) and Isobel Innalls (GA) started the Venus fightback.

Tiffany Brice (WD) linked well with defence and attack and helped Venus to edge that quarter.

In the final quarter, Kayleigh Martin-Haste inspired the team to play their best netball and win a valuable point.

Mars 29, Newbarn 53

MARS were slow out the blocks and were trailing 17-4 at the first break.

They rallied, however, losing the second quarter 10-9 but Newbarn’s GA was a thorn in Mars’ side and they entered the last quarter at 40-18.

Mars mustered up all their remaining energy and fought valiantly.

With determination from the shooters, GS Sharon Ethridge and GA Kayleigh Martin-Haste, Mars got within half, earning a point.

Taunton Tudor 53, Sydenham Emeralds 27

EMERALDS travelled to play Tudor, and the visitors made a slow start before starting to apply more pressure towards the end of the first quarter.

The Sydenham team started the next quarter positively, with strong passing through the court to the shooters, and in the third quarter the girls played well as a team, with minimal mistakes.

Heads were high going into the last period and Emeralds continued to play with confidence, but Tudor saw out the win 53-27.
