AoC South West Basketball
Team BTC 62, Gloucester College 58

GLOUCESTER started brightly, taking a swift 6-0 lead, but BTC fought back well to take the first quarter 20-16 - a lead they extended to nine points by half-time.

In the third quarter Gloucester came out fighting and stole the lead by a point going into the final quarter.

Stunned by Gloucester’s persistence, BTC had to dig deep and work harder.

Team offence paid off as, after some strong attacking plays and an important ‘three pointer’ from B. Stubb, BTC regained the lead to win by four points.

Arjay Vilo starred in the win to be named this week’s BTC athlete of the week.

Arjay showed great spirit throughout this week’s game, ensuring the team’s offence gained momentum from solid work on defence.

On offence Arjay worked hard for his team mates and had a number of exceptional individual efforts dribbling to the hoop and making great finishes around the basket.

TriCSS League
University Centre Somerset 12, Bath A 26

UCS were slow to start, with Bath displaying some great ball retention, and the pressure eventually took its toll as some clever running lines saw Bath claim the first points.

UCS responded quickly with a strong scrum and quick pick-up, with Aiden Campbell scoring the try in the corner.

Bath added two further converted tries but UCS responded with some pressure of their own, with a great defensive read by Charlie Green resulting in an interception followed by an 80m sprint to score.

Man of the match was Jude Donnelly.
