Neptune 36, Sapphires 75
NEPTUNE started well with Katie Anthony (WD), Tilly Heal (WA) and Cath Clark (C) ensuring shooters Katie Harris (GA) and Flora Horrox (GS) got every ball possible.
Neptune were putting up a fight against a strong Sapphires, trailing 9-16 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Abbie Newton (GK) and Aiste Mockeliunaite (GD) were getting some great tips but Sapphires pulled clear.
Neptune came back with determination but Sapphires increased their lead, which they held until the end.

Venus 17, Kites 44
THE first quarter saw both team struggling to adjust to sub-zero temperatures, with steady passing by Elaine Bowerman linking with Chris Shaw (WA) and Tiffiny Brice (WD) to move the ball down the court.
In the second quarter, Andrea Martin-Haste (GK) was gaining turnover after turnover with Sharon Etheridge (GD) keeping the ball moving, but Venus struggled to convert and trailed 7-20 at half-time.
Venus continued to struggle, but fought back and made the final quarter their best one as Kayleigh Martin-Haste (GS) and Isobel Innalls (GA) reduced the deficit.

Somerset Division 3
Mars 18, Kingfishers 43
MARS scored the first goal off their centre pass with an excellent feed into the shooting area by Anna Belcher (WA), but Kingfishers fought back to lead.
Isobel Innalls came on and linked well with the shooters Sharon Ethridge (GS) and debutant Isobel Keane (GA) as Mars had their best quarter of the game.
The second half saw Mars start well with brilliant drives from Jess Chee (C) and fantastic interceptions from Ella Smith (WD) but Mars could not convert these to goals in a disappointing finale.

Somerset Division 2
Sydenham Rubies 50, Spears 46
BOTH teams started strongly, fighting goal for goal, and the hard play continued into the second quarter and, despite strong defence from Katie Issitt and Jess Bull, Spears pulled ahead to lead 26-24.
Rubies went out with intent in the final quarter and, with some good attacking play from Carly Langdon, Justine Pearn and Steph Gibson, Rubies made a great comeback to win the game.
