Jupiter 31, Trident 70

BRIDGWATER’S Jupiter started slowly and allowed Trident to build a lead, eventually finding their feet with turnovers by Eve Jenner (GK).

In the second quarter, Jupiter doubled their score but Trident’s shooters stepped up and the half-time score was 34-15. 

Lauren Cook (WD) and Emily Bridges (GD) put a halt on Trident’s dominance, and Annia Holleron (WD) and Hannah Sayer (C) passed well, but Jupiter couldn’t get a losing bonus point.

Saturn 37, Hovelands 69

SATURN played a difficult match against strong opposition, ending the first quarter 16-10 down despite strong defence from Rebecca Dunn (GD) and Eve Jenner (GK). 

Cerys Etheridge (GA) and Maddie Kennard (GS) shot accurately, but the opposition extended their lead to win.

Neptune 27, Parkfield 42

NEPTUNE had a strong start, but Parkfield were able to pull away in the first quarter.

Precise passes between Aiste Mockeliunaite (C) and Tilly Heal (WA) got the ball to the attacking circle, allowing Katie Harris (GA) and Flora Horrox (GS) to cut the gap.

In the final quarter, Neptune couldn’t quite catch up despite their best efforts.

Venus 40, Queensway 49

VENUS had a slow start and found themselves trailing, before improving in the second quarter, with Izzy Innalls (GA) and Kayleigh Martin-Haste (GS) impressing. 

In the third quarter Venus attacked positively with Elaine Bowerman (C) and Chris Shaw (WA) on form, but the final 15 minutes saw Queensway score consistently, which just kept them ahead.

Somerset Division 3
Mars 16, Newbarn 39

MARS took on an experienced Newbarn team and were unable to capitalise on Andrea Martin-Haste’s turnovers, going in 21-8 down at half time.

The third quarter saw Jess Chee (C) working tirelessly along with Izzy Innalls (GA) to feed into Sharon Ethridge (GS), but the hosts couldn’t pull back enough goals.
