ENMORE captain Neil Whisler arranged an Away Day to Club Bristol and 47 competitors made the trip.

Dave Izard overcame the very windy conditions to score 37 points and take the trophy.

Enmore Seniors made two away trips into mid-Somerset.

The first, to the Mendip club, on one of June’s hottest days, became a struggle in the heat.

Although Enmore pushed their opponents to several close finishes, they came in having won only one match outright with Steve James and David Brown winning 1 up.

Two matches were halved, Peter Sherry with Mark Saxton and Paul Waplington with Keith Calvert leaving Enmore well into second place by a 6-2 scoreline.

The next trip took them to the Wells club.

With the Glastonbury thousands already enjoying Pilton, Enmore did not share their excitement coming away again with just one pair winning - that of Steve Lukins with John Rigler by 3&2.

The next match is again away into Mid-Somerset at Long Sutton, so Enmore are hoping to avoid three defeats in a row.

Elsewhere, Enmore Avalon Seniors continued their unbeaten run.

In blistering heat, they defeated Taunton & Pickeridge 3-2.
