KINGSCLIFFE Short Mat Bowling Club held their annual club pairs competition at their headquarters, North Petherton Community Centre.
Because of other commitments only 20 members took part this year but the event was enjoyed by all.
Divided into two groups for the round robin section, the winners and runners-up of each group progressed through to the semi-finals.
Here, Merv Selway/Jack Baker beat Ivor Snook/Dave Poole 11-5 and Pauline Russell/Jill Sellick beat Ginny Hearn/Jan Evett 12-5.
The final started off badly for Russell and Sellick and, although a brilliant five shots on the penultimate end saw them draw level, the final end went to Selway and Baker by just one shot.
