Somerset County Div 1 West
Middlezoy Rovers 1 Minehead 1
IT was honours even at the Aerodrome after Jed Williams's first half strike cancelled out by a second half penalty from Jack Furze.
Lance Turner's perfectly weighted cross was glanced into the far corner off the head of Williams on 20 minutes as the hosts began strongly. On 35, Charlie Lintell's ferocious drive hit the under side of the bar, bounced down onto the line and hit the cross bar again and then into the arms of the visiting keeper.
After the break Felix Ndiomo wasted a good chance for Minehead, missing his kick when destined to score. Minutes later he threw himself to the floor in the area under no real pressure, referee Thorne pointing to the spot.
Furze sent Greg Turner the wrong way from the resulting penalty as Minehead drew level.
Andy Smith looked to have been tripped in the opposite area on 78, but tried to stay on his feet and the home side's claims for a penalty were waved away.
The draw extends Middlezoy's unbeaten league season to 22 games, having drawn only three of their fixtures.
