DURING this year’s Somerset FA Awards, Bridgwater College picked up the new ‘Empowering Youth Award’ for their efforts in supporting and developing the younger generation within the college.

This award showcases the college’s relentless drive to develop, support and empower younger generations of volunteers as well as providing opportunities.

Alongside the Empowering Youth Award, Team BC Learning Disabilities football coach, Jack Hamblin picked up the Disability Coach of the Season for his efforts within disability football.

Jack has managed the Bridgwater College and Bridgwater Town Football Club Learning Disabilities football team for the past three seasons and his award was more than deserved for all his hard work put in over that time.

Jack said: “I am delighted to have achieved the Somerset FA Disability Coach of the Year Award.

"I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this award without the help of Bridgwater College and the brilliant guidance from the Somerset FA.

"I am currently managing a disability team with Bridgwater Town FC and I am looking to expand the side into three teams from our current two.

"I am excited looking forward.”
