SPORT staff at Bridgwater College have joined forces with the Taunton District Schools Football Association (TDSFA) to support the coaching of the Taunton and District U13, U14, U15 and U16 football squads.

As part of the link with the college, the players - who are all from schools based in Taunton and West Somerset - have access to a development programme that not only offers professional coaching to the players, but also access to the college’s high quality training facilities, which include the astro turf pitch, sports pitches, sports hall and state-of-the-art health and fitness suite.

Coaching staff will also be given the chance to develop their coaching skills through opportunities within the college.

Sam Reilly, head of sports, outdoor education and public services at Bridgwater College, said: “We are delighted to strengthen our link with the Taunton District Schools FA (TDSFA) and allow the players to gain from a high quality learning experience.

"It is our aim to develop young talented footballers across the local and wider community to be the best they possibly can.

"Having an opportunity to support and facilitate their development through first-class coaching and raising their aspirations is key to the values of our college vision.

"The impact of this provision will no doubt develop the U14, U15 and U16 TDSFA teams and provide them with excellent links with partnership clubs, Bridgwater Town U18s and UEFA licensed coaches.”
