BRIDGWATER College has received a welcomed boost to its personnel, following the appointment of Welsh International and Yeovil Town Ladies first team player Nicola Cousins, who has joined the coaching team.

Cousins, who is a UEFA B license coach, will work alongside head coach Trevor Jenkins to deliver a comprehensive programme designed for talented female footballers across the region.

Cousins, who is also a head coach at the newly-formed Team BC and Yeovil Town Ladies' FC female development centre, will bring a wealth of experience, with knowledge of exactly what it takes to become an elite level female footballer, due to her current credentials as a player.

Cousins said: “To work in this environment is exciting.

"Yeovil Town Ladies in partnership with Bridgwater College are determined to offer one of the best playing and training opportunities for female college players and these talented players can experience in excess of 13 hours per week of contact time.

“I feel my experience of playing both Women's Super League football, as well as International football, will enable me to help guide those talented players and I feel I can help support their future.”

Bridgwater College has won yet another AoC Beacon Award for Sport in the Curriculum, for inspiring its students through sport.

This is the College’s 14th Beacon Award, the largest amount any college has won throughout the whole of the country and, with Cousins now recruited, it will only improve.
