SATURN progressed into the second round of the cup with a comprehensive victory over Swans.

Saturn pushed hard from the start with shooters Katy Cheese (GS) and Becky Hooper (GA) converting well and at half-time they led 22-14. Swans applied more pressure but the Saturn defence of Sally Haysham (GD) and Lucy Brown (GK) held strong turning over the ball.

Saturn made changes throughout the match to keep energy levels at a maximum and everyone played their part.

Venus have also booked their place in the next round with a 43-28 victory over Keinton Kites, despite making a slow start.

The first quarter saw turnovers being lost and opportunities missed and it ended 9-9.

The second quarter was a different story, with Venus producing an absolute storm that left Kites flailing in the wind.

Beautiful teamwork from Cerys Ethridge (WA) Charlotte Setter (C) and accurate shooting from Kayleigh Haste (GS) and Morganne Dunn (GA) meant Venus ended the quarter 13 ahead – a lead they would not relinquish.
