JUPITER recorded their first win of the season, beating Trident 56-39 on Sunday.

Starting the game with determination, Jupiter started well with safe netball allowing them to take the lead, but it didn't take long for Trident to find their feet, closing the gap and reducing Jupiter to a one goal lead at quarter-time.

The second-quarter was Jupiter's strongest with everyone stepping up a gear.

The second-half saw Jupiter's line-up remain unchanged.

Tireless defence made up with great vision and well-timed interceptions from Imma Matcham (WD), linked well with the fast, yet controlled play in Jupiter's attack and allowed them to maintain their lead.

Although Trident fought hard to deny Jupiter this lead, it was not enough and Jupiter ended the game with their first victory, winning 56-39.

Saturn suffered a narrow 40-33 defeat at the hands of Knights.

Saturn started the game well full of confidence and superb centre court play by Michelle Stone and Olivia Shorthouse ensured Saturn finished the first quarter down by only two, 8-10.

The second-quarter saw Knights apply more pressure to increase their lead.

A positive team talk led to Saturn having a superb third quarter - Becky Hooper teamed up well with the centre court to allow the ball to pass fluently to player of the match Katy Cheese whose fantastic confident shooting brought Saturn back into the game at the end of the third quarter.

The final quarter saw Knights pull away to take the win.

Venus stormed to a 64-26 victory over Minstrels – and made a great start ending the first half 28-15 up.

Great passing in the centre court from Charlotte Setter, Cerys Ethridge and Darcie Dunn ensured the shooters - Morganne Dunn and player of the match Sophie Cornish - received lots of opportunities to score goals.

The defensive duo of Emily Harwood and Hana Middleton continued to dominate Minstrels attacking circle ensuring an overall win to Venus.

Mars lost 36-18 to a strong Avalon side.

With many players playing up from Mercury, Mars made a strong start against a much more experienced and stronger side.

Eve and Kia Jenner battled against a very tall defence in the shooting circle, ending the first quarter only two down.

Avalon brought on a more experienced shooter and continued to dominate the game.

The defensive pair of Aiste Mockeliunaite and player of the match, Bex Dunn continued to put the shooters under pressure, but Avalon were just too strong and the final score was Avalon 36 Mars 18
