QUAYSIDE Trampoline and Gymnastics Club is celebrating the success of two of their team members who competed at the Trampoline and Tumbling National Development Plan Finals 2015 in Telford last weekend.

Eight-year-old Talia Macrides and her 17-year-old team mate, Daisy May Ham both train at Quayside Trampoline and Gymnastics Club in Bridgwater.

They made it through to the National Finals after their outstanding performances throughout the season which culminating in selection from the recent Trampoline and Tumbling Regional Team Finals and NDP Qualification event which were held in Peterborough, to compete at the prestigious NDP Finals.

Daisy who competed in the tough NDP6 15+ ladies age group, had previously brought home two bronze medals and achieved a credible sixth place in the final round whilst Talia who doesn't turn nine until later in the year and was the youngest competitor in her age group, is literally jumping for joy after winning the prestigious gold medal in the 9-10 NDP5 group.

Talia, who travels from her home in Weston to train at the Quayside TGC's elite facilities in Bridgwater, had previously won two Gold medals in the 9/10 girls age group at competitions earlier in the year, making it a hat trick of gold medals for this talented youngster.

Senior Club Coach Helen Moore, who also judges internationally for the Great Britain Trampoline Team, said: "We are incredibly proud of both Talia and Daisy as it was tough competition to even make it through to the National Finals.

“For Talia to win three gold medals this season in the youngest competitive age group is fantastic news.

“They should both be very proud of their achievements."

Talia's Mum, Aurora Necco, who coaches both gymnasts, proudly watched her daughter on the podium bringing back memories of her own successes as a member of the Great Britain Junior and Senior Teams.

She said: "I am so proud of both Daisy and Talia but I must admit it was quite emotional seeing my own daughter being presented with her first national gold."
