THE traditional Enmore Park Captain's Drive-In took place last Sunday with incoming captain, Nigel Musgrove.

A morning shotgun start Bowmaker and an afternoon mixed event took place on a fine, rain-free day.

The morning event of best two from four was won with 84 points by the team of Gavin Hurley, Ben Huish-May, Derek Bremner and Jason Harris.

This was one point ahead of Woodley, Atkinson, Lane and Read in second spot.

Two teams followed up with 81 points and it was the team of Brewer, Ashton, Peck and Clapp who took third after a better back nine.

But the round of the day came in the afternoon with a 20 under.

92 points coming from Ally and Jo Wyatt and Shanni and Neil Whisler to storm 10 points clear of second placed Carol and David Howe and Carol and Geoff Garbett.

Jo Wyatt featured in the prizes again when she correctly guessed how far new captain Nigel Musgrave-Brown’s drive would go – an impressive 168 yards uphill into the wind and watched by a good crowd.

In a separate raffle for which the prize was entry to a week’s golf competition in Scotland later on this year, the winner was Eileen Binding Last Tuesday, the seniors played a Stableford with two golfers coming in with 41 points to top the leader board.

Edging top spot after countback was Phil Taylor, with Ronald Eldridge missing out. In third, one point further back, was Bob Kippen ahead of three golfers on 39 points.

Wednesday saw the ladies play a Texas Scramble Stand Aside with Judy Hancock, Liz Peel and Lorna Walker storming to victory with a score of 72.6.

Elsewhere, Enmore played Cannington at Oake Manor in the Somerset Bowl Foursomes interclub county knock-out, which Enmore won 3.5/1.5.

Enmore now face them in the scratch seniors at the same venue next Tuesday.
