THE Childline Bowmaker Competition at Enmore Park Golf Club had a good attendance on the rearranged date.

With all prizes donated by the pro shop, a good sum of money was raised for charity.

Team Millar/Ingram were victorious with an impressive 92 points (20 under!) with Mel Millar the star player shooting well below handicap.

In second were Team Whisler/ Bowdige with 87, two ahead of third-placed Team Howe and Garbett.

Tim Jones and Nigel Contreras failed to improve their position so remain in third but Jones Jnr (Daniel) and Ian Case scored an amazing 50 points (best score this winter) to have a chance of victory after shooting up to sixth place in the standings.

The seniors’ Winter League has reached the final stage with Pain/Pascoe meeting ex-Taunton Vale duo Saunders/Lukins.

Both teams have seen off some fierce competition to reach this stage.

Ladies’ 18 Holes Fun Pairs took place last Wednesday and it was Jill Simpson and Sue Hales who came out on top with 32 points. This was good enough for a one-point victory over runners-up Annette Rigler and June Symcox.

Enmore’s ladies had a good start to the season with a 4-1 home win against Minehead.

Sue Merrick scored a hole-in-one on the second on Saturday to improve her winter eclectic score.

Sarah Rendell and Lee Lewis beat Judith Sperring and Paul Henson to progress to the final of the Edward Cup. After being two down after the 13th hole, they proceeded to win the next four.
