Regional League Three

Jupiter 25, Old Chelts 37

JUPITER slipped to a third defeat in four games at Old Chelts away in their penultimate game of the season.

Jupiter started slow with the home team taking an early lead, however after finding their feet they were able to settle themselves and fought hard to pull back the deficit.

Old Chelts increased their lead slightly but it wasn't enough to unsettle the away team who were hopeful to come back fighting in the second half.

Although none of the Jupiter team gave up, the final quarter was dominated by Old Chelts and Jupiter were unable to break down their quick and precise play, allowing Old Chelts to keep their lead, winning the game 37-25.

Joint players of the match were Beckie Cowley and Lisa Lukins.

Many thanks to Falcon for providing transport.

Neptune 28, Tone 30

A REALLY tight match against Tone saw Neptune lose out 28-30.

Some fantastic defending from player of the match Sally Haysham and Lucy Brown ensured that Tone struggled to gain a lead.

The game was even all the way through, with shooting sisters Darcie and Morganne Dunn working well in the circle. Centre court players Julie Mclean, Chris Durant and Hazel Hucker worked tirelessly throughout the game.

Mars 21, Priory 31

THE first quarter saw Mars finding their feet , while the second quarter saw some excellent attacking play from Chris Shaw, Cerys Etheridge and Sophie Cornish.

However, with passing errors, missed shots and clumsy hands, Mars saw what was an obtainable score line slip away from them.

Excellent defensive play from Hana Middleton, Annia Holleron and Tiana combined with wonderful shooting stats meant that Mars won the last quarter, but the final score was 31-21 to Priory with Hannah White being voted player of the match.

Mercury 21, Robins 45

WITH a new line up, Mercury started the first quarter slowly ending 10-1 down.

The second quarter saw Mercury warming with some great interceptions from player of the match, Laura Gibson in WD.

The second quarter ended at 24-6, and the third quarter showed the defence GD Olivia Handel and GK Ronnie Borowska working hard together and gaining interceptions and turnovers.

The third quarter ended with a score of 37-12, but the last quarter allowed the attacking players to take over - Paige Langdon and GA Leah Davis managed to get nine goals, there biggest amount out of the quarters.
