Bridgwater 5 Plymouth Marjons A 2

TOM Lott scored all five goals for Bridgwater as came from behind to beat Marjons 5-2 on Saturday.

Lott was in red hot form to take his seaso’sn tally to 41 goals as the hosts battled back from 2-1 down to secure an emphatic win.

The game started off at a fast pace with the young side of Marjons moving around everywhere, making it hard for Bridgwater to pick them up.

Some good communication and work rate from the home side enabled them to slowly get into the game, and it was Bridgy who got the first goal when Cam Birch found Tom Lott at the top of the D to deftly beat the oncoming keeper for his first score of the day.

The rest of the half continued in much the same vein with Marjons getting the equaliser from a well worked short corner.

An exciting but evenly matched game went into the break at 1-1.

From a similar situation the previous week, Bridgwater managed to lose 3-1, so the team talk at half-time was all about getting that first goal.

Unfortunately, this was not to be and Marjons went ahead early from another well worked short corner.

This set the game alive, and Bridg-water equalised from a quickly taken free hit by skipper Jenkins, the ball finding its way to Lott, who got his second of the game.

With the game nicely set up and both teams going for the win, chances were going to come.

Stout defending from Bridgwater meant it would be them who got the next goal with a run from Nath Dyte finding Lott in the D to calmly slot home for his hat-trick.

A few minutes later the same combination this time saw a long ball from Dyte find Lott outside the D, and the striker coolly went around the keeper and slotted in from a tight angle for his and Bridgwater’s fourth.

With Marjons pushing on, another long ball from Dyte again found Lott, who flummoxed the keeper again this time putting the ball between his legs to get his fifth goal of the game.
