FIONA and Carl Dobson, Lorraine and Mike Taylor and Sarah Rendal and Lee Lewis progressed to the quarter-finals of the Edward Cup mixed foursomes at Enmore Park last week.

Neil Bushill and Gary Mansfield posted a 48 at the weekend to improve their score by 10 and lead the table.
Playing partners on the day, Gary Cook and Martyn Clapp, also scored 48 on a day of good scoring in the sunshine.
The ladies’ nine-hole Bowmaker was closely contested with last year’s Lady Captain (Judith), Betty Edney and Fiona Ryan scoring 42 points, one ahead of runners-up Eileen Binding, Hazel Percy and Carol Robinson.
ENMORE Park’s David Dixon finished tied for second in his latest G&S PGA Medal in some very testing conditions at Weston-super-Mare Golf Club.
Dixon finished one shot behind winner George Ryall, who shot 67 to take the win. He carded birdies at all three par fives and just the single bogey at the ninth when his drive found trouble.
